Wilderness Legislation

Many groups within the National Wilderness Coalition advocate for legislation to designate new wilderness and/or provide additional protection to existing wilderness or wilderness-quality lands. Wilderness areas can only be added to the National Wilderness Preservation System by an act of Congress, signed by the President into law.
